The Coquí are elusive and hard to spot. I've been traveling down to Puerto Rico for years and I've never been able to see one of these little frogs. The males make themselves heard all over the island and evening becomes a symphony with their calls. It is an incredibly beautiful sound and high up there as being one of my all time favorites.
The call of the coquí is special and so is the magnificent island and all of its inhabitants.
When I think of what the people of Puerto Rico, a United States Territory, have had to endure these past weeks I feel angry but I also have felt hopeless. I want to get myself down there to help. Get off my ass and physically get my self down there to do something....anything. I'm not sure my skills would offer much help. I'm not sure how much Yoga would be appreciated when you have no clean drinking water.
There are ways to help. John and I chose to contribute to CCSU- Ana Grace Project Relief Effort. We will also do a fund raiser at Lam Yoga.
WNPR sent two reporters down there recently and they were able to gather information to better educate us here on the mainland. I got to see that there are helpers, There are kind, skilled people organizing and helping.
Here is the link to the Ana Grace project Relief Effort https://ccsu.networkforgood.com/causes/10497-ccsu-ana-grace-project-relief-effort
Money donated to this Relief Effort will go to all locations effected by recent hurricanes including Texas, Florida, the Caribbean and also the devastating earthquake in Mexico.
May all all beings be happy, peaceful safe, and free.
