Deeply Yin with Becky Thompson January 23rd at 6:15pm
Join Becky Thompson LMT RYT on a Thursday for an evening of the perfect winter blend of Yin Yoga & Self Care Ayurveda Abhyanga.
Guided by breath we will surrender into a deep winter yin yoga practice. Our yin postures will be tailored to create space for the vertebrae of the spine and ease low back & hips. They are common areas of stuck energy especially during our winter season.
Early Winter is considered to be our Vata Dosha season in Ayurveda. Our internal vata weather is thought to be increased within us by the cold, dry, windy weather of winter. Let's meld the practice of Ayurveda and Yoga....... given to us to work hand-in-hand in this yin yoga practice.
This yin yoga practice will help promote the qualities of balancing vata and creating warmth, serenity, stability, grounding, focus and nourishment. It will be a beautiful connection to reestablish our natural state of wellness and well-being as we enter our winter season.
Savasana will be accompanied by the sounds of singing bowls.
All levels welcome...the practice is full of still, longer held poses with the intent of deep mindful stretching and releasing layers that no longer serve.
Becky will teach some Ayurveda Abhyanga self care massage therapy to nourish the body, support immunity & encourage wellness through the winter season. Take home Abhyanga Vata Balm will be given out to use at home.
