The Seasons of Yin- A Kapha practice with Becky Thompson
Thursday, March 12th
A season of birth, new beginnings, renewal, and growth
In late winter, it is important to clear the clutter, internal weeds and stagnation and begin to "declutter" the body.
That amazing feeling we get when we clean out closets, get organized or take in different seasonal foods to support each season......we can also have that same declutter feeling through mindful yin yoga combined with very gentle movement. Let's help the body, mind, heart prepare for our late winter season by supporting it with just what it needs
We will work specifically with yin yoga postures that help the kidneys, digestive system, liver, gallbladder & lymphatic system. We will bring in some soft twisting and ringing yin postures that help circulation to the digestive organs. Let's release stress in the hips, spine, torso & shoulders with a still mindful practice of yin yoga..... paired with gentle compassionate yang movement meant to renew & refresh.
A short portion of this yoga practice will include a brief Ayurveda instruction on self Garshana (dry brushing with gloves)..... to help the lymphatic system in our Season of Kapha. You will also go home with a special Kapha Balm to nourish the mind, body, heart in our late winter season. The yoga class portion will be filled with many reflective yin yoga asana as well as a small portion of yang to embrace balance of mindfulness, stillness & a shift in flow & energy.
For all levels of yoga.
Preregistration is required as space is limited.
